So,
the speculation regarding Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell venue has finally been
put to rest. The maestro has requested the BCCI to host the second and final
Test of the series against West Indies at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Board
secretary, Sanjay Patel, has confirmed this to news agency, PTI. BCCI is
unlikely to turn down the maestro’s request. It means Delhi is not in the
picture to host his 200th Test, as of now, at least.
A
senior DDCA official told Delhi Cricket that “Ideally his last game should be
played at Wankhede. It is something he wants. And Delhi won’t fight for it.”
